The Illinois State Board of Education oversees a statewide system of support (SSoS) that provides comprehensive and targeted district and school improvement services. The SSoS is organized into nine areas, as well as a tenth area consisting of the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). 

SSoS services in the nine areas outside Chicago are delivered through Illinois CSI in collaboration with its SSoS partners, including the Regional Offices of Education and Intermediate Service Centers, the Illinois Principals Association, the Illinois Association of School Boards, the Illinois Statewide Technical Assistance Collaborative, the Illinois Resource Center, and the Illinois Response to Intervention Network.
