Research Forums Overview
Illinois Center for School Improvement (Illinois CSI) Research Forums bring together national experts who share best available research and practices with Illinois CSI staff,
Statewide System of Support (SSoS) partners, and district leaders. Illinois CSI hosts two to four Research Forums a year. These forums provide an opportunity for service providers to learn about emerging research and practice in the fields of district and school improvement, turnaround, achievement gaps, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Illinois CSI and SSoS field staff and support providers may also be asked to contribute to Research Forums through presentations of their work concerning their alignment to Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois CSI indicators and the outcomes they are seeing in their partner schools and districts. These learning opportunities will broaden knowledge of the work of various providers and serve to facilitate collaboration among providers in their partner schools and districts. These events will help to ensure that the Illinois CSI's professional development approach and content remain current with the best available research and practices.
Research Forum presenters do not necessarily represent the views of Illinois CSI, American Institutes for Research, or the Illinois State Board of Education.
Attendance to Illinois CSI Research Forums is by invitation only. However, Illinois CSI posts videos of all Research Forum speakers on its website and YouTube channel.
